Our Catholic Faith - the Bishop’s vision - Bringing People closer to Jesus Christ through His Church

We welcome

At St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School, we welcome all into our family.  We believe that we are all equal in the eyes of God and that no one is a stranger.  We appreciate all for who they are and what they can bring to our school, to enrich the lives of us all.

We care

As a school we actively try to see Jesus in everyone.  That means that we try to see the best in people and we try to bring out the best in people and children too! We joyfully work together. We help each other with our short-comings.  We look out for one another.  We show respect for each other and we take an interest in our extended St. Joseph’s family.  St. Joseph’s actively helps our local community through many charitable endeavours.

We work hard

We try our best to do our best in everything.  St. Joseph’s boys and girls are not deterred by what they can’t do – as it is a can’t do yet ! We recognise that in our failures we build our successes- we grow from our mistakes.  We strive to emulate our patron saint St. Joseph.

Our Vision and US

Some of our school family took the time to say what the vision means to them.  This is displayed in our main reception area but we wanted to be sure that everyone can see it.  Thank you to the children, staff, director and parent who took the time to  help put this together.

Sacraments

At St. Joseph's Primary School, we believe in the importance of supporting our children, and their families, in their journey of faith and do what we can to support them. The seven sacraments are Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage and Holy Orders.

Please see HERE to watch a video on Reconciliation from Sr. Hyacinthe Defos du Rau, OP (Head of Formation for Mission Team in the Portsmouth Diocese).  This video was created after Sr. Hyacinthe had visited our school and worked with the children.
