Diversity
Across the school in PSHE, we have been learning about diversity. We have discussed the values, customs and traditions of people living all around the world, the UK and in our school.
Many of the children’s parents and grandparents were born in different countries. We learnt some amazing things about the children and how different countries’ traditions, are both similar, and different.

Celebrating Diversity and Culture - October 2023
The children had a wonderful day celebrating culture and diversity. Our children in Early Years and Key Stage One listened to and discussed stories that reflect the rich and varied cultures within our society. Our children in KS2 were wonderfully open to information and dicussions led by our very own Year 6 children. These children in Year 6 organised themselves into groups, created PowerPoints based on their own knowledge and understanding of cultures within our school family. They then very enthusiastically went to different KS2 classes to deliver their presentations and they did themselves proud. Some children went to great lengths to wear cultural dress and share objects from their own cultural heritage.
Please see HERE for an example of one of the PowerPoints created by a group of children which was then shared.
Here are some of the different items the children brought in to share their family’s customs and traditions.
